 The Importance Of Smiles I forget occasionally how important it is to grin How it spreads warmth and brings a glow to skin And smiles are far easier on the face you know As they spread outwards fun begins to then flow Happiness chases the blues from out of your sky And suddenly all your troubles far away will fly When I feel down and the sky goes darkly drear I try to find a smile to dry up those old grey tears If you look hard enough you will always find one It will be there waiting to bring out its cheery sun And smiles don’t travel alone there will be more So don’t think of shutting your hearts open door Smiles are catching you know pass it to a friend For others need to feel the warmth smiles send In passing it on you’ll find you’ll have lots more Smiles will keep on flooding through your door The warmth that they give will wrap around you And you will always have a smile to give away too Marsha Take back the hope you gave,- I claim Only a memory of the same Robert Browning |
