Listening to every heart

Purple Words, Golden Threads

think of her
smiling on
words of old
passions sure
purple and gold
colors of school
tales to be told
and long gone rules

somehow royalty
comes from within
you are born
either purple or gold
and wear it well
when compassion
lies within the soul

age came
thank God
and she accepted
purple as the
way of life
but gold ran
through her pen
and through her
words
voices heard
the within of
past whens

once she wrote
and laid it bare
it didn’t seem
somehow to just
lie there

but grew wings

on soft sweet breath
took to the sky
the skein of gold
from twinkle of eye
the passion of blue
the soul of green
and somewhere
there
inbetween

wove the thread
of love, the want
of peace, the love
of best, and troves
and troves
of treasured chest

all in a thin skein of gold
through purpled words
of give, and live,
UP and sighs
elephants’ visits
and warm goodbyes
cheery morns
and sun-sing songs

all came about
when she came along
and took a slender
skein of gold
and wove it into
purple of old
a warm garment
to wrap around
the endearments
of friends
found new

and that is what
she did to you

Ah, Karilea, when you write like this it is so easy to see the gold in your words. This is very beautiful......
