Listening to every heart

Still

days lead days, all long gone by
when first you searched into my eyes
looked deep and fell into my soul
and passed from young onto the old

still I mesmerize you

you say ‘tis so, my eyes still glow
of love and life and laughter fine
and you say how can it be so
that rare am I as fine aged wine

still I inebriate you

you attempt to quietly understand
this aging woman in your embrace
calmly gaze with fond desire at
the feathered lines about my face

still I puzzle you

emotions rampant run within
most thin the essence of my skin
and deep the well of love to find
when you whisper “ come, be mine”

still I mystify you

know that forever there will be a “still”
as wildflowers come to springtime’s hill
as passion bends thus to loving will
there shall always be the “still”

in the still of the night
in the silent of embrace
in the still of always
in the tranquil of grace

there shall be this still for you
the one that mesmerizes and inebriates
the puzzle of the mystery
there shall always be the still of me

long until tomorrow

If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

kari, this is utterly totally divine, absolutely beautiful. You really are so inspired, and I love this one, I really do. I'm astounded that you constantly better yourself, every one is better than the last. You are really soaring, love it, wonderful.
Take care

Ah, my friend Kari, had to read this a couple times just to soak in it, and it lingers wonderfully on the skin. Loved it.

This one to my treasure box for sure - absolutely top drawer - As I've said on other rare occasions - "I wish I'd written this"  and so I say it again: this is outstanding!
