silken threads shimmer
in sunshine's pure light
intricate weaving
an artist's delight

moving in closer
it's beauty is clear
but danger is lurking
should you get too near

what could it hurt
just an innocent touch
you try to hold back
the temptation's too much

helpless you struggle
and try to break free
a prisoner of passion
forever you'll be

the black widow poet
has wrapped you in rhyme
as the hour glass echoes
the passing of time

Vicky~

This is very well done -
The web has been spun -
Beware the dangerous bite
of the spider-in-the-night.

There is no avoiding her
this poet of the poisoned bite
Now I'll never get to sleep
for thinking of this fright ! !

*You're just a thriller !

And I'm right there with PdV ...
I'm for avoidance at all costs !

couldnt resist reading this one nice flow to it... nice one to read on my first day at the site ;-)... perhapes the wid0ws found a new home ;-)

The Widow

The wid0w spins her silken web
Beauty between fine gossamer thread
Frost drapes like diamonds glistening in the dusk
Enticing… provoking… curiosity a must

Though many see not the shinning array
See not the warning the cold frost does display
Flying tangled into clinging weave
Allowing shinning smile to deceive

Wrapped in silken sheets they end their strife
As the wid0ws fangs sink in… to end their life
Then on to the next…
"Come… pray let us tarry a while"
The wid0w turns with sparkling frosted smile

Seeking sustenance for heart, body and mind
The wid0w seeks to feed on all she finds
Romance, love, passion… hunger all end the same
Life near the wid0w a dangerous game
