Encased in hard spun walls
Slowly beating heart flutters
Scratching sounds from within
Struggling to be free
Nature pauses in Her work
For this process of rebirth
Cracks appear and slowly widen
Caution abandoned, beauty emerges
Pausing in the warm sunlight
As if gathering courage
One beat, pause, two beats
Then in a graceful flurry
Borne on the wind
Butterfly takes flight

Pepper* This is so very beautiful...the
circle of hope and life...to become what has
only been dreamed about...to arrive to a
place where we are no longer bound to the
ground but free to fly to the stars...This
is indeed a favorite and will in my
library...You weave the butterfly with
beauty and grace~
