"I remember", she said.
I remember that first gentle touch,
fingertips running along my arm,
softly mesmerizing me
with their relentless caress.
Eyes closed, breath quickens,
Her smile reveals a truth.

"Oh, yes, I remember", she said.
His words, whispered in my ear.
"I may even kiss you", he spoke.
And when he did, lips coming together
in a gentle insistence, she knew
their union was inevitable.

"How well I remember", she said.
The texture of the carpet
pushing patterns against my back.
A graceful arch created in an instant
with one purposeful thrust.

"I remember", she said.
The sound of the gulls and the sand beneath their feet
the waves crashing upon the shore,
the taste of his lips, sweet as kiwi.

"And I remember", she said.
Wishing it could always be like that,
just the two of them, one soul, one heart.

She closes her eyes, a faint smile upon her lips.
Exhaling quietly, I hear her whisper,

Oh, yes, I remember...

What better way to become immortal than to wake up each day and write? Ray Bradbury

This is lovely...

If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

JoannaK,

Oh, to have memories like that! It seems we share some likes in common.  I enjoy long walks and lunch on a beach, as well. The warm sand between my toes and the sound of the wind in the saw-grass. Truly another lovely creation from a lovely mind.  Thank you for sharing your memories with us.
