Listening to every heart

0 posted 2000-12-08 11:39 PM

Talk me into the Night

I balk at the shadows closing in
the memories
don't walk when they come rushing in
the hurting
is chalked up to experience once again
and I know
to caulk the windows of my soul from the wind

~ * ~ * ~

so talk me into the night, my friend
walk with me in soft light, no end
of talk throughout the night to lend
a shoulder on which I might cry

hold me and hug me tonight and then
talk a little more my friend
then whisper that there shall be an end
Willow won't break, she'll continue to bend

sing to me a silent song all night
and caress away all of the fright
then never again let loose of tight
just talk me into the night

just talk to me, my friend

Karilea
If I whisper, will you listen?...
I would rather be silent and write, than speak loudly and be bound.

we can always talk
but your soul you cannot caulk
I will be your friend

you have strength, you know,
willow bends but does not break
I talk to my friend

you shall never balk
as hand in hand we shall walk
while we talk, my friend

Kari, this is another of your very best, it is an amazing poem full of you in every way. It has your signature clearly all the way through, like a stick of rock.
Are you okay love,? This is a brilliant poem but it worries me a little, remember where I am if you should need that shoulder love. I can't do much except offer love, tea and sympathy, but you know that.
Take care kid

Kari, don't they have sticks of rock in Kansas love? Well if you really want to know, it's usually peppermint flavour, but you can get it in other flavours. It's round and about a foot long, 12 inches, and it has a name all the way through it. It's normally sold at the seaside, along with kiss me quick hats and candy floss. I'd send you some but it would be vile by the time it got to you. (Actually you'd probably be able to eat it, because when it's fresh it is as hard as rock.)
Take care

Karilea, when you write like this, I can feel the gentle soft tone of your voice whispering the words. You make them so real....
