Crawling Up Your Arm

What do you feel
in the middle of the night?
What wakes you up
with horror and fright?

What is that thing
crawling in your bed?
Moving so slowly
from toes to head

Will it bite?
Will it sting?
What deadly poison
will it bring?

Slowly crawling
up your arm
Do you cry out
Raise the alarm?

Or do you dare
let out a scream
And hope that this
is only a dream?

This is creepy..I know that feeling...waking up in a panic that something is on you, and not knowing if it was a dream or not. For me, its usually spiders that I dream about (SHUDDERS...or at least I hope I only dream about them)crawling on me. A terrible fear....
Nice work here, Devine.

Egad how I hate those crawly things....this one has left me with goosebumps!  Just a word of caution...do not scream....it is written somewhere that every human will swallow at least 6 spiders in their lifetime, just because they sleep with their mouths open....I haven't had a good nights sleep since I heard that!  Just thought I share that little piece of trivia.... I, for one, hope that it is only a dream!  Very cute!

Hmm...if that were me, I'd probably shriek and try to shake it off. Then I'd have a heck of a time trying to fall back asleep.
