Drifting listless from life support,
lying placid in tangerine golds
Sensitive to crumbling, unaware of their granite beds
In circumference of scattered wisps,
these fiery litterings lay beautiful,
trampled by beleaguering feet,
flattened by rush hour's turning axles
Such a shame that maturing season lent them beauty,
then severed them from perennial sustainance
Some find luck and get to decorate kindergarden halls,
but most others await permanent smothering
in synthetics of environmentally affectionate kinds
Such irony that these friendly sacks are grim reapers of nature
Once these blades were free, erstwhile on trees,
but now lay lifeless and still like fading embers
And these silent petals wait in calm
fallen through the curse of autumn

I don't believe I've read one of yours, and why not?  This is wonderful.
