Hear it?
   now...
the clock,
   a-tick...
pendulum so
   rhythmic?
The drone of time,
   most unaware,
the camouflage
   of owl's stare.
  voices, sonant,
   (no one's there...)
  snap of twig...
   (still, no one's there)
  Build a fire
    for the light,
  wrestle with
    the arms of night...
  Watch with me,
     the shadow's might,
  a trace of spark
     to float in air...

I slept.  I dreamt.
And you were there.

Well here I am wrestling with the arms of night again myself.LOL....wonderful verse from you my friend.  Couldn't sleep with all the snapping of twigs and all so I thought I would come by and see what all the comotion was about.  So what is a dream and how does one go about getting one and please do not tell me it involves sleep LOL

Hi serenity--you just need some ear plugs and eye shades and a stiff drink...but, nevermind...I would rather you write poetry.

i got the spook-ular, night-in-the-woods vibe from this one.
wrestle with the arms of night...  man you are so good at this!

I am reminded of the immortal words of Socrates, who said, "I drank what?"

seems to pantograph the conclusion
I enjoy your conclusions
