Quietly, I step into your world...
before your eyes,
and hope my intrusion is welcome.
And if it is not,
hope it is a least forgiven.
Because the truth of the matter is,
I bear no great news,
but made the short trip to you,
just because I wanted to be with you,
for a bit.
I missed you.
Selfish of me, I know.
But, you see,
the sun is shining so brilliantly..
so intensely..
and it is calling for me to come play.
And what fun is it to play alone?
So, instead
I came here,
so that I could spend a few quiet,
tranquil moments,
with you.
My best friend.
And ask of you,
Do you want to come out and play?

If you are asking me, the answer is my favorite word, "YES."  and no way will I let this one slip off the page...love it...and hugs to you.

I wouldn't think you selfish.   This is such a sweet poem.  Makes me want to call up my best friend and ask her to play!
