Thundering,
crackling
   flashing
     in the
      silent night
    Her presence
      I felt, heard,
        sought, wanted
           to be
        She visited,
          my senses
             she held on
               real tight
                 --------
              Her teasing
                eyes, her
                  lilting laugh
                    delightful
                      in my
                        sight
                     Bringing
                       back sweet
                         memories of
                            days I
                               used
                                 to
                                   see
                                Thundering,
                                   crackling
                                      flashing
                                         in the
                                            silent
                                              night
                                              -----
   I looked for
      her, elusive
         her as she hid
            from the
               light
             She knew
               my thoughts,
                 slipped my
                   grasp you
                      see
                   She visited,
                      my senses she
                        held on
                          real tight
                            --------
                           Floating on
                         the air was,
                       like lightning
                         in the night.
                            As single
                               entities
                                  we've
                                     blended
                                        poetry
                                           so
                                             free
Thundering,
    crackling
        flashing
            in the
                silent night
                    -----------
             Weary though
                she may be
                   and she knows
                      her plight.
                   A pleasure
                       she remains
                           to me,
                              she's all
                                 she needs
                                     to be.
                                         She visits,
                                             my senses
                                                 she holds on
                                                     real tight.
                                                         --------
So far
   the distance
      is between us,
         yet she's
            within
               my
                  sight.
                     To never
                        to have
                           known
                              her,
                                 t'would
                                    be sad
                                       mystery.
                                          Thundering,
                                             Crackling,
                                                flashing
                                                   in the
                                                      silent
                                                         night.
                                                            ---
She has
   her wings
      she's free
         to fly,
            onward
               through
                  the night.
                      But she
                         seeks
                            shelter too,
                               a haven
                                  from
                                     the
                                        sea.
                                           She
                                              visits,
                                                 my
                                                    senses
                                                       she
                                                          holds
                                                             on
                                                               real
                                                                  tight.
                                                                     ---
I'll bend my
   every effort;
      I'll fight
         the final
            fight.
               To aid her
                  in her distress
                     if she makes a
                        call to me.
                           She visits,
                              my senses
                                 she holds
                                    on real
                                       tight.
                                         Thundering,
                                              crackling
                                                  flashing
                                                      in
                                                        the
                                                          silent
                                                             night.

Mark-

Scratching around to find a subject - allowing a shape with words - was far from easy - Thank you

Sheri-

My humble thanks ~S~

Martie-

Running down field with the ball -
one has to know when to zig and when to zag   Thank you

I don't know which was tougher - the villenelle - or the jagged streaks - Thank you

Wil this was electric, both the display and the form was breath-taking. I love storms, they remind me of this

You wowed me with your talents on this piece, Impressed me with your creativity, and electrified me with your lightening charged phrases. This is my favorite of yours, though there are many that come close.
Great talent here

It's a little complicated, Mr. Yeats, bowing and clapping at the same time...

but I have to admit, I see much in the verbiage, you just added a punch with the graphics...

May lightening strike me down for not seeing this poem sooner.
Your presentation and poem are both enlightening
