"This Clouded Heart"

The sky awaits to shed
its eyes of showers
rests low upon the
hills beyond the wood
as newly brewed my tea
arouses daybreak
its earth and almond
steaming understood

Eyes searching past the
doorway to the gardens
and thinking on a
morning such as this
I nearly hear your steps
approach behind me
and feel the steaming
sweetness of your kiss

As scarlet skies stream tears
into the valley
and as the teasing
tea brings me awake
another day begins
beneath the shadows
another day this
clouded heart to ache

Oh, I love this. I can feel the lonely, early morning. Hope you feel better.

Much love all,

Sad and bleak. It made me think of someone waking up to a still-dark morning all by themselves.

Elizabeth, yes, that's precisely what led to my writing this morning. Thank you so much for reading. (smiling)

Ron, yes, one must wonder, sometimes, how so much beauty can co~exist with such pain and melancholy...it is a balance, to be sure. I am feeling better, thank you.  (your worm poem helped)

Thank you Irish Rose. I'm sorry for the delay, didn't realize anyone else had read this. Thanks for your enthusiastic reply! (and I love your name, by the way!)

This was so gorgeous, I could picture it outside my window and was going to single out a few lines I loved but I can't because I loved them all!!!!

Such a clear picture, I could smell the tea, and almost hear his footsteps as well. Wonderful poetry.
