When the breaths come short
and a thin veil rents,
when the pearl shines
close to the light
and all faces appear
before you.

When the bell chimes,
and ribbons braid in a cradle
to take you home,
slowly...and you gasp.

If the love you have given me
is bejeweled as I believe it was
then all I ask is that
it be my name
and only my name
upon your lips
when last you speak.

My perception of truth will somehow never quite be the same..and so I write.

Sad, yet comforting, to the inevitable end. I enjoyed the read.

Quite a bit of pain and longing in this piece.  Wonderfully written.

life is like a road: full of pot holes and dead ends.
