Mirror I Don't Like My Dress

Everyday wake up at 7 am,
I open my closet and give a frown.
What should I wear today
That people won't give a stare?

Can't we just live without a care?
Are dress made to make us feel good?

But why...

Why everyday I wake up I worry not homework,
Yet I worry what some girls and some boys
Would think about my style?

What is my style if all I'm to be
A popular girl just like everyone else?
So tell me why we can't live free
Of the images media and society portraited?

So some think it is cool
To dress sexy, dress less and be provocative?
Where are our pride, our dignity?
Where are our wants, our way of living?

And after being popular,
Aren't we lots more happy?
Being a doll, a poster,
Isn't that what we want to be?

Isn't what we want to be is a game of pretend?
So what if I am fatter, or my size is small?
Why should I dye my hair just because I think other like it?
What do I like, and who would care about me if not me?

What do I like, and who would care about me if not me?

Side note: I heard a clip about what America Girl Culture is, and this is my response. In a way, I want to be knowledgable, cook well, sexy, slim as well, and I'm also affected by the media. But I'm so glad my culture (Chinese) is strict on the way we dress that I didn't go astray.

I know where you are coming from, I have always cared what other people think of me. Even though sometimes I am a little obnoxious,etc...I have lost some friends (?) because of my way. Having said that! I have friends going on almost 30 yres.. that think I am just fine.

Everyone has faults and we should not be judged.. we don't know what their past life has dealt them, so now I am at the age ..that I don't much think what people think like I used to.. I am 62 yrs. young and I deserve to live my life accordingly..but not for other people.

Have a good one! Good Work! Keep it going!
