At best I empathize
while in solitude I specialize
allowing no one to scrutinize
my covert eyes
My heart's courage I cannibalize
so loneliness I maximize
and my body try to galvanize
My fears I metabolize
or my will they crystalize
and occasionally I realize
the months and years go by

I like this..It has a rap tempo that is attractive.

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

You've added a unique rhythm and rhyme to a simple truth - we can be our own worst enemy, allowing fear to keep us in lonely isolation and steal away the years. I like this very much.

Oh, I like this very much.  Why don't more words have rhyming partners for us. Joyce

Thank you all for reading, this one is not my usual in that it rhymes so much and so obviously, but that was the point and I am glad that you liked it
