Whose Love (Sonnet)

Whose Love this is that holds me in strong arms
Still guides my wayward words unto its light;
Forbids me not, but pleasures me with sight
To see in endless measure its sweet charm;
"Whose Love..."
You ask,
"...Eliminates alarm?
Whose Love can set ten thousand souls to flight
And sweep away, like shadows, come the night?"
Unto the still of morn, "Away all harm!"
This Love has come to occupy my prayer
And caused the silent bird to once more sing!
This Love it is, of whom I am aware,
Still brings to fragrant flowers days of spring;
"Whose Love has come..."
You ask,
"...Whom none compares?"
Why, it's the Love of God, our King of King's.

Dear friend; I am at a loss for words...this glorious sonnet takes my breath away! Willy move over!! Hugs, Ellie (Shakespear that is)

Joyce Johnson,

Thanks. This rhyme pattern was written like the sonnets of Elizabeth Barrett Browning's Sonnets from the Portuguese.

Marge Tindal,

...and it is my fine pleasure to be visiting you here.  Thanks for the welcome.

aries_luv_ppl,

(Smiles) Thanks for the thumbs up!!!

Denise,

...I too believe in everlasting love.

Trillium,

I value your comments so very much and you've left me grinning from ear to ear. Thanks.

ellie LeJeune,

I love your sense of humor!!! Yes, Willie move on over... Us Browning descendants are taking over!!! (Big Smiles)

Flower,

Glad that you thought my poem lovely. Willie Nelson??? Not for me... but I did like him with Julio Inglesias and all the girls I've ever known before. (Smiles)

Dark Angel,

Thank you for your mighty nice reply. Like most poets, I do enjoy being read and even more than being read once or twice do I like being saved and read over and over again. (YAY!!!) Again, thank you very very much.
