Silently
The song of Autumn is heard.
A lovers serenade.
Waking the dawn upon the meadows,
where Summer slumbers
among the profusion of wildflowers.
Her lovers voice a dream
of the passions they have known.

His kiss upon her floral brow,
awakens old desires deep within.
As once a year they meet,
to lie upon the wooded Glen
and waltz on golden sunlit shores.
Brief passion neath a harvest moon.

So in mountains forests deep,
the farewell kiss of Autumn
on Summers verdent lips.
A sad Farewell.
Till once again these soulmates meet.
Once again their promise kept.

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

ahhh...what a lovely way to express the change of season...you are a delight to read Ellie....

the woods are lovely, dark, and deep, but I have promises to keep, and many miles to go before I sleep...Frost

I love this poem, it feels so serene, and makes one want to be right there in the center of it all.

Ellie, why does this remind me of Aragorn and
Arwen from "The Lord Of The Rings"? It is beautiful and sad...and very well written.

Ellie,
This is just as lovely and much more so than the other poem(haiku) of similar thought--but this is so much more lush in developed thought and beautiful in its capturing!

You are SOOOOOOOOOO good Girl!
