The noise is so contagious
Can’t take myself too serious
The sound is so outrageous
Delightful and delirious!

Explosive laughter all around
Of epidemic size,
I weaken when I see the truth
In all the laughing eyes.

True laughter can’t be faked
It comes from deep within
Lips stretched up and over teeth
Til helplessly we grin,

Some of us may titter,
Somewhat nervously,
While others whoop and stamp their feet
Hysterical with glee

Still some only nod their heads
And barely make a sound
Too dignified to lose control
And roll around the ground

Some laugh just like hyenas,
Or cackle honk and snort
Some emit a forced laugh
(They’re the dull ill-humored sort)

Laughter is an anthem
It’s notes we’ve always known
Sweet music like this must be shared
It can’t be sung alone!

and it's the best medicine too...great poem! I laugh so hard my stomach hurts sometimes...nothing beats a great laugh!

A friend hears the song in my heart, and sings it to me when my memory fails.

To Irish Rose, Melton and Ellie,
Thank you for your replies!
I love to laugh too, silliness is just in my blood!  I think I'm a cross between a
Aha-ha-ha and a tee-hee-hee-hee.
Melton, I've always been partial to HO-HO-HO's because of YOU-KNOW-WHO

Can't go wrong with laughter. Myself, i am mostly a subtle ha-ha type, but every so often an Eddie Murphy impression escapes.

Nothing like a good laugh to make you feel good. When I laugh I shake all over and it sounds like I am snickering...jeesh its awful...

You got to get up every morning with a smile on your face
and show the world all the love in your heart
Then people are gonna treat
