Everyone is out tonight,
For once I can see the stars.
Dreams of colours float in my mind,
As canvased emotions seep through the skin.

I am a human being,
Alone in a world of conformity.
Superficialty has replaced friendship,
Who am I anymore?

I was a free spirit,
Now only tied down to run.
I am a slave being worked into the ground,
A piece of meat between lifes teeth.

The cloud of nothing is so big,
Escaping it is too risky.
For once you are engulfed in its gas,
Never again will you escape.

Is the truth that hard for you?
Can you not hold your heart to the light?
Maybe inside you there is no heart,
And only pangs of loneliness and hate.

The communication has broken down,
No more I can call you someone I know.
Your paranoid ways have pulled us apart,
Your thoughts destroyed our hope.

I can't get through to you,
You just can't listen to me.
Nothing was done, nothing was said,
Try and get those images out of your brain.

Remember when you were a friend?
No..well it was a long time ago.
Maybe when you aren't so twisted,
You'll see the error of your ways.

Man some people really do suck. If its one thing I can't stand, its people not telling me the truth...

This was really good. I'm surprised no one has replied as yet... I understand what you are saying, sometimes the one's we love, and feel the closest to, are the one's that hurt us the most. Good luck!

Good morning!  And what better way to start the day than with a poem from one of my favourite poets of all, anonymousfemale!  ^_^
Once again, i can really relate to how you feel in this poem... the sad loss of a friend.  I have had many such losses myself.
Excellent metaphor usage in this poem.  As usual, a very inspiring piece.

Great Poem! This seems to happen so many times in life, you would think it might get a little easier. But it doesn't. I can really relate to how you feel. Good luck

Well la di da!
Friendship is a lot...... a lot lot!!
Well anyway I do hope that your situation works out in the end.
Nice poem, the style is great. You seem to be a non-conformist of society...nice one...me likes.

Jenn: I think it is just human nature to want to hurt people. Half of us don't mean to but when it happens, no one realises it except the person it happened to.

Allan: Thankyou.   The thing about this loss, is that this person was one of my closest friends. But life goes on as they say.

IsGona: I'm glad you picked up on the metaphors..it was very late and I am not sure if any of them really made any sense.

Lakewalker: being lied to is worse than cheating someone I think.

Jon: OH I know. It never improves where ever you go or how old you get. I'm glad that you could relate to it.

Dopey: I can't stand conformist societies. I am living in one everyday and it bugs me madly. The situation will work eventually. I am at last in a positive frame of mind. I have been meaning to say this for ages, but I love your first quote about saying how the world will have to adjust for you being you. I just love it.

thanks everyone for your replies.
