On this Raven-colored dark of nights With brightest stars, the Heavens weep Tonight the majestic scene finds me, In a twisting, turning sleep. Out of the darkness of my room, A shadowy figure slinks slowly to me From out of the cold corners of the darkened room, A slender shadow i can feel, but cannot see. Cool, and calming, is her touch That brings sensual pleasures abound What once was wary even in its sleep, Is now indifferent to every sound. Divine pain, sinful pleasure, Under a shadow's touch; pacifying, and cool Even though a part of me still in control Knows im being played for a fool. Im powerless to stop it though, All i can do is keep dreamin' Under the spell of some "divine shadow", With the heart of a demon. For these are just fantastic dreams, With no hope of coming true. It knows this, and it knows Theres nothing i can do. When the the sparkling daylight dances On my windosill, it leaves. Im free from the dream-spell But prisoner of my real life again, it seems. Everything that was there dissappears, Leaving me only to sit up, and stare As the only evidence left by my "dream" Is a chill in the morning air. NOTE: A Succubus, is a female demon supposed to descend upon a man while he sleeps(among other things). -"!!!" [This message has been edited by !!! (edited 08-13-2000).] |

COOL poem. I love the mysterious vibe it gives off! I never knew what a Succubus was. Great work, I've seen some of your other poems, and I like the way you percieve things. With much love, Mel  |
