Murky swamp waters, again they pull me under,
Smothering the truth and the light,
Appearing as another useless blunder,
Wrong!!  I will fight!!!!!

Treasonous existance,
The truth so obvious,
Emotional heathen,
Never seeing truth or reason.

Every misdemeanour,
So insignificant to you,
Each one stabs my very existance,
Each one pierces me through.

Such beliefs go against the laws of man,
An X Files existance my daily reality,
Never knowing the next terror faced,
Or the next wound inflicted upon me.

Such betrayals, bait set to hurt,
Mutiny to my heart, mind and soul,
Treachery scars unseen but there all the same,
I have to ask - is it all just a game???

What does it all prove?
What is accomplished?
Emotional abuse exists and is alive and well,
Was it you who cast the spell?

I am no impenetrable fortress,
I too can easily fall,
Then there will be no victor,
Only a mess in the hall........

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....

"There will be no victor
Only a mess in the hall"
I love these lines! They're so creative. The whole poem was great, but it was these lines that really caught my attention. Another gem from our resident poetry goddess!

Very powerful, as always. I like the words treasonous existence. That says so much to me. Take care.

Isis,
I like the analagy of the swamp. It says to me that things are covered by the mear murky waters and these things pull at you so much, you could loose yourself, but you will fight on..
Some reason I like that part.

Very easy to feel for the person in the poem..
My reaction to the mess in the hall was put a bag in an airboat and get the heck out of the swamp.... liked it a lot

Isis,
I LOVE this. Every single word!
Simply brilliant.
However, I DO hope this is not a true picture of your life!
Are you OK?

ps
I know what you mean, too.
Those selfish types who twist everything against others, only they are innocent. Psychological torture.

"Emotional abuse..is alive and well"..so true, so true.  Physical scars heal...but emotional ones last forever, only to resurface at some inopportune time in the future.  Well done, Isis.  Hardrock

Thanks everyone!!
Sven I hope we win the battle one day.
CatalinaMoon, I know you understand.
Lotharinga it's about someone who always puts themselves first, barring anyone else's needs or desires..
A lonely existance for all involved...
I am ok though ok?
Glad you all could relate...

I'll tell you this...... No eternal reward will forgive us now for wasting the dawn.....
