THE SHADOWS OF LOVE

Lurk you silently in the shadows
And find solace in empty dreams
For this - your world - is real
No one will hear your screams

Your love was never meant to be
Was just a Manifestation, a Thought
An idle fancy risen in your mind
Destined to come to naught

You lost yourself in unreality
You conjured up a lost love that
Was born long before you could see
The scornful smiles of them who sat

Like God’s appointed judges to pass
Judgement on what you yourself did not
Understand, comprehend or even grasp
For it wasn’t real - only a Thought

It did not matter that you lived it
Nor that only the unreal was true
Nor that your world was only built
By shadow bricks that He Himself drew

Out of the long forgotten past
To wake you from your restless sleep
To take you to the day you last
Buried that visage in your soul so deep

That aeon’s could not make you forget
The shadows embedded in your heart
Since the day they took him away and
You, your celestial search did start

Across the emptiness of boundless time
Till one day you saw him and knew
That you had to be born again to be
Part of him - and to earth you flew

Were born once again in human form
But while you wallowed in childish mirth
Thru’ the long years of growing since
Into this world you took your birth

Before your last journey to him could start
He had left unknowing for a distant shore
And the shadows etched within your soul
Dimmed, yet somehow you to him, they bore

Despite that, they should have faded
Should have forever cut themselves out
From your loving heart by time so jaded
And put your hopeless love to rout

But they hung on in the hidden depths
Brought you softly to his strangers door
And departed forever - their task done
To leave you with him for evermore

But the twisted paths you had to tread
While crossing the vastnesses of space
Had linked this, your earthly existence
To facts you could not - but had to face

So lurks your love in deepest shadows
Hiding its face in darkness profound
Suffering the buffets of destiny’s blows
Till the end of this penultimate round

Till both are united once more forever
And they, who, on you invectives hurled,
Maybe they too, shall be your lovers
When understanding fills the world.

Deepak, this was phenomenal. The principles behind it and the way you put it. Maybe thats more common than we know, and plays a part in our inability to have what we want and need. Great job, made me think a lot.

Dear Spitfire and Cat,
Thanks - and Perhaps there is always a story behind us that maybe we dont know about - I believe that some things existed before time was born and we are in many ways enmeshed in that unknown past...
