A Last Goodbye

Sitting here, alone among the millions.
No IM's, no chats, no buddies on.
Amazing to feel so alone among so many,
Friendless  amidst a sea of friends.
This is what it was like in the begining,
Before all the new friends came along.
Now they're all gone, I don't know why.
Things have changed here I know
But I can't understand how it went so wrong
Thre was a time, not too long ago
When I couldn't have a moment to myself.
Now the clock ticks away the hours
Without a simple "Hello" or "Where you been?"
Could it all just end so easily?
No questions, no reasons, not a hint.
That magic is gone now, never to return I fear
Cyberspace is just space now, cold and lonely.
  A place I can't even enjoy anymore,
No more mail or jokes or lols, only "Welcome"
Then nothing for hours on end.
Soon I'll hear that familiar "Goodbye"
One final time as I say goodbye to this place.
Memories of friends are wonderful things
But we can't live for memories, can we?

First off let me welcome you to dark Passions.     I am so glad you have decided to join our little family.
Secondly... being the chat  groupy that I am, I totally understand you here.  I have a best friend here in cyber space.  His name is Robert and he lives in Oregon.  I have never met him, nor plan on meeting him.  But that makes him never the less my friend.  Things do tend to drift apart, here as in the real world.  Make new friends, new smiles and new memories.  You did it once, you can do it again!
Good luck

Welcome to passions!   About your poem I'll just like to say I understand. Often I've felt the same way you're describing here. But I've found passions to be a nice place to be.

Oh LOTR, I do know this feeling as well. Welcome to DP, and with our help, maybe you won't have to feel this way any longer.
Lovely poem, felt the emotion powerfully,

LOTR...Welcome.  This is the "Cheers" bar of the internet.  Isn't it nice to go "where everybody knows your name"?  Very well said poem.  Hardrock
