An emptiness unknown,
The birth of a new life

My love, how true indeed
you have showed me what it means
when thy heart bleeds
how vacuously empty my world is left to be
where many days have passed,
when you are not to be seen.

Before you my love, it was never like this
days were assumed happy
ice cream cones were bliss.
girls at the park I dared not kiss
and Christmas time was only for Christmas gifts.
so, how was I to know something was a miss?
how was I to know your love transcends distance?

From a chat room you came,
it was fine with me,
friends we became
in March I believe
life was the same
Oh how was I deceived
life was very different
as you shall soon see...

A seed of friendship
bore into a bud of love
watered with time
and fate shone from above
a combination
which makes only the heart drum
is how I fell
so passionately in love.

And we met
and we touched
and we had our time
but before that day was over
one thing came to mind
our love was true
purely divine
and when you left
how sad was I
longing for your touch
longing for more time
my heart was broken,
shattered, and maligned
what was I to do
my heart was no longer mine

On many occasions
tears only cover this face
an emptiness has built
in the broken heart's space
but now that I feel it
there is no mistake
I now have a new life
to share with my love Jase.

Hi to all.  This is my second poem on this site and I believe that I would love to become part of this community for a good amount of time.  Thus meaning, I would like to post many more poems, even though I have only a handful at the time lol.  I never considered myself to be a poet but everybody here is so welcoming that I think I have had a change of heart.    I had such a wonderful audience for my first poem and I thank them very much.  Whomever may read this, I hope you enjoy this poem as well.
