Nest Of Love

I come to you,
like a injured bird
on flightless wings;
drawn to the safety
of your healing arms
and soothing voice.

Broken and scarred,
I find my solace
there in your arms
and you hold me,
scared and trembling,
close to you.

Softly you whisper
words of encouragement,
words of love.

In a heartbeat,
I lose myself in you,
and the healing begins.

You shelter me,
but do not cage me;
let me try my wings,
knowing all along,
that I may spread those wings
and fly away.

All the while hoping,
that the love you've showed
will bring me safely back
to your nest.

 Have you ever noticed
That the words...
"Goodbye"
"I'm sorry"
"I love you"
Are so easy to pronounce
...Yet so hard to say
~Javan

Ruth,

I am new to passions but have spent the last week reading some of the poems at this forum. There is some awesome talent here, and you for sure are a true poet! Loved the meaning and message of this poem...also loved the format and flow of it.

Ruth~
So very beguiling.
The softness of the wounded bird,
the gentleness of the healing,
the confidence in the flight,
the return to nest.  Lovely, lovely.

Ruth when it comes to things of the heart, I don't think anyone could put it better than you!

Beautiful thoughts hoot owl.  I have often thought that even though one hurts us another will come into our lives to help us heal.  It could be a new friend or lover.  James

James...thank you

Wildbill...I assure you, after a while you'd get tired of them or perhaps tired of me reading them to you

Beautiful poem Ruth.  The delicate essence of "true" love sings within your words.
