In the space between moments

The sound of icy echoes
Rests within her eyes
Upon a wave of emptiness
A spirit slowly dies.

Torn by a bitter past
Abandoned by her dreams
Hopelessness approaches fast
Upon the grey mooonbeams.

Hollow lays her mind
Blank as the muted clouds
Apparitions whisper unkind
The words a bitter shroud.

With a single solemn glance
She slowly turns her back
Shutting out the dance
Never finding what she lacks.

This is a dark poem.. Too bad turning away and blocking out the pain can become too easy.  Excellent poem, my friend, as always.

wow..this is beautiful...excellent imagery and it has this lovely, mystic, loneliness-- quality about it...very well written... and it uses all my favorite poetic words...
whisper...echo...solemn...
some words were meant for poetry..(smile)

 ...every moment of every day...
your still with me in every way.
every poem and song...
every rhyme and verse...
your still here...like a beautiful curse.
your my inspiration, your my fire...
your words fill me with poetic desire.
Every moment of every day...
your still with me in every way.

This is beautifully written and heart breaking, Krista. I especially liked the last two lines.

You know,
I can't believe some of the images you bring to mind.  You poetry reads like pure passion coursing through my veins.  I relate to everything in this.  unfortunately, daring to dance often never shows us what it is we lack either.  My every compassion, Alwye.  Beautiful poem.

Thank you all so much.  I'm honored that you all liked it.

Michael- I'm glad I was able to touch you.  Sometimes the words live in you and when they emerge, it's stunning how accurate they can be.  Thank you for the wonderful comments.
