IS IT YOU?

I sit alone in California,
Staring out at the empty sea.
Wondering if somehow, somewhere,
Someone's out there for me.

I gave up searching long ago,
Giving this dance to Fate.
But night's like this it's just so hard
Not to anticipate.

I look upon the heavens,
Stars beaming ever bright and true.
A gentle breeze brushes over my skin
The moon's soft shade of blue.

The ocean singing soft to me
It's mystifying call.
A tear slowly rolls down my cheek,
I never feel it fall.

This moment, so perfect, meant to share,
I stand and watch, alone.
My answer taken by the wind,
Falls away monotone.

As Night, so peaceful, so serene,
Takes on Dawn's golden hue,
I wonder if someone's out there for me,
I wonder, is it you?

Can't say it's me Michael. But there is someone out there for you! God will bring them round! I know He will!  This brought tears to my eyes. I would have loved to share a moment like that!

Deeply sad Michael.  I know that we've all pondered this many times in our lives.  Sometimes it's really hard to keep hope.  But when you least expect it, that perfect match comes.

~Michael

This brought tears to my eyes...such a moving and emotional piece. I do believe there is someone out there for you. Please never give up..."shes" out there somewhere for you. This was simply breathtaking...your depth of emotion continues to take me by pleasant surprise.

"Its taken much too long,
To get it right.
Would it be so wrong
To maybe find someone...
A miracle

And all you really need
is everything you could never be
And so you'd give it all
For a miracle

But what you miss is love-
In everything below and up above,
And could she bring it all...
A miracle

All you wanted was a miracle...
All you needed was a miracle...
A Miracle"...

this poem aches with your emotions...so beautifully expressed with the ocean images for a backdrop...

there are places inside our hearts...
that need to be loved this much...

Michael: This is wonderful. Would it help to know that maybe your special person is saying the same thing to herself right now...

Great poem as always Michael. I am sure someone will come along for you and turn your world upside down when you least expect it. Keep your head up, so you can see it when it happens

Michael, I think your not alone in this feeling. A lot of us here are just the same, searching for that special someone.

So many souls out searching
passing each other by, unknowing....

We need bigger signs!

Your poem can certainly get under the skin
Well written and yes I could feel the longing there within

The ability to describe life with words is similar to painting a picture; both can be powerful tools.

I must echo Marge in my sentiments, Michael...she is there. Your poem appeals to that questioning part of me, also...and so eloquently. I wonder...do your thoughts just pour forth in verse? You write with the ease of breathing.

Michael, One day she'll be there to share all those beautiful evenings, you both just have not connected all the dots that lead you to each other yet. When you do the sun will rise each morning with dew kissed whispers of love, until then take this time to grow and find more of yourself to delight in. Don't melt away the minutes waiting, enjoy life as it comes to you now because in the shadow of a moment everything could change. Your poem is wonderful expresses your feelings and grants beautiful images from your visual perspective.

Somewhere in another place,
She sees the same bright moon.
Wishes on the same first star,
That you'll be coming soon.

She questions sadly Mother earth,
Is this the way it will be?
Sitting all alone for life,
Beneath a shaded tree.

Having not a hand to hold,
Strolling long the beach.
Showing what her heart can give,
Yet still beyond her reach.

She wishes on the first bright star,
With all that's in her heart.
If your wishing on that star,
Even though you're world's apart.

She sends her heart up into space,
The emptiness she feels.
Hoping that one day soon,
Your presence you'll reveal.

Michael, All of your poetry speaks to the heart, and your kind heart always shines through.  She will show up one day, and what a lucky girl she will be to have found you.

WhtDove,  I know God has a plan for me.  When he's done working on me, perhaps then He will guide my path across hers.

Alwye, I'm least expecting it right about now...trust me on that...LOL

Aimster, Hope is my thread of life.  To cut that one - I'd have no reason to continue.

Janet, I believe in miracles.  Still, I know there's many worse problems in the world than a broken heart - I hope God places the miracles where they're most needed.  Thank you for sharing "miracle".

Marina, indeed.

Mistikman, I hoping one will come along that WON'T turn my world upside down for a change...LOL

Haleyja - I think we all pass each other due to fears and doubts and other reasons... 'tis a shame, truly.

Ruth, I'll never give up hope - 'tis all I have, truly.

devina, ditto on the happiness, but I think happiness is meant to be shared by two.

Marge, open and sweet - got ya!

Claire, honestly I think I write poetry subconsciously.

Gloria, Yeah - have lots of room to grow - and that's exactly what I'm doing.  No more wasted days - no more wasted years.

Marilyn, *sigh* Beautiful poem.  Touched my heart.  I think there's no greater compliment to a poem than to move a fellow poet to write one.  I always used to wonder if two people could possibly be wishing on the same star simultaneously....that's what your poem reminded me of.

Everyone, thank you for the kind and sincere replies.

You have again written one from deep within your heart here.
Your talent for writing does amaze me.
True love always seems to find us when we`re not looking.
I hope that happens for you.
Take Care Michael.

I read this and was amazed. I am in Ohio and I hear and feel ever word writen. I'm not an angel nor am I a poet but this heart is true. I have said these words and felt this feeing. We haven't had much good weather here until lately, I took that day to go to the docks and my plan was to fish. With the wind and the chill in the air, all I could do was look and wish and pray and pray and pray. I only ask for one day..just that one day. Take care and I hope that you find what your heart desires. Until then, talk to me, pray with me, just SMILE.

Beautiful, sad and emotional. One with a heart like yours will find another love to
take her place. Love may last forever but the
emotional cancer is only temporary, until she
is replaced.
Touching poem, thanks for sharing.
