Annie's Goin' Dancin'

she's got her red dress on
lipstick just right
high heels
nylons
perfume too

Annie's goin' dancin' tonight
Annie's gonna ease her lonely heart

six years since he left
so peaceful in his sleep
six years since she smiled
six years since she laughed

Annie's goin' dancin' tonight
Annie's not stoppin' til dawn
Annie's got a smile
and her red dress on
closing her front door
closing up her past
she's got a sparkle in her eye

yeah, Annie's goin' dancin' tonight

Annie has suffered enough.  It's wonderful that she's "goin' dancin' tonight"!!

Breaking through long lived grief is a major step for someone who has gone through it.  And dancing is a terrific way to start.  Very good poem, very uplifting.

X Angel--What a lovely poem!  It certainly seems that Annie deserves a night out on the town.  Let's hope she dances her grief away.
