Daff

Mother's day is here again,
The day when you're well known,
You're given when you're budding,
And given when full grown,
You bring great joy to mothers
whenever you are given,
Great poets such as Wordsworth,
To write of you were driven,
Oh daffodil, oh daffodil you're such a lovely fellow,
But, I'm afraid that for my tastes, you're simply far too yellow.

They are yellow
for happiness,
like the brightness
that shines
from our skies
to warm and caress
our universe
after it cries,
or just to nourish
and grow
all the nature
that needed that cry.
Yellow is happiness
waiting for us
to smile
as your poem
made me do,
thank you.
