It stalks when you're sleeping,
Annoys you while you're awake,
And if you don’t file by the deadline,
You'll soon see your sad mistake!

Here comes the dreaded Tax Day,
You're bound to be a mess,
Tho' surrounded by shoeboxes of receipts,
That won't impress the I.R.S.!

You know you have more deductions,
But they haven't materialized yet,
Maybe you can claim the Dog,
You took her to the Vet!

You have to be a mathematician,
To figure out each form,
You can't afford a C.P.A.,
So you're praying for a brainstorm!

The Taxman, He's a coming,
In bold and steady paces,
Don't try to conceal your assets,
He knows all your hiding places!

Investments that You made,
Provided a good windfall,
Though You took all the risk,
The Taxman will make a haul!

If you choose to itemize,
There's a lot which you can claim,
But if you claim too much,
The auditor will bring you shame!

Soon will come the deadline,
Prepare, while time you have still,
Complete the forms, mail them in,
Before the fifteenth of April!

Dennis,

Oh what a perfect picture you painted of the Dreaded "T" day.  Though I found this quite amusing, it made me realize I need to get my butt in gear and get mine done....time is running out.  Thanks for this appropo post.

Your poem was quite taxing
Too soon to sweat it ,Yes?
I'll wait 'til the last minute
Like other years, I guess
My heart just isn't in it.
Why not a poem 'bout the ides of March
Of Julius Ceaser fame?
That would not be so threatening
'Lest Julius was my first name!

You did a good job--did the IRS put you up to it?  Later Bro.,  David

I never knew that taxes were such a nuisance..lol...the one good thing about being a teen is that you don't got to worry about stuff like that! Life is hard enough already!!!

*applauds..*  This was great.. Brought a smile to my face..

MAY THE ROAD RISE TO MEET YOU,
MAY THE WIND BE ALWAYS AT YOUR BACK
MAY THE SUN SHINE UPON YOUR FACE
THE RAINS FALL SOFT UPON YOUR FIELDS
AND, UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN,
MAY GOD HOLD YOU IN THE PALM OF HIS HAND
