We all make choices in this life
each one leads down a different lane.
The choice you made was reaching out
to help others in their pain.

Your words both wise and true
wrapped me in a gentle fleece.
You touched me with your nature
and gave to me a measure of peace.

Know that you have quelled the tears
that resulted from an emotional knife.
Know that you have given light
to my most sad and darkened life.

Friend you are on a journey
that someday I too shall make.
Until then I walk with honor
for your dear, sweet memories sake.
