Candles flickering
Flames dancing in the wind
Just a reflection
Of the fire burning within
Hot wax dripping
Puddling on the table
Like words I try to speak
But am not able
You blow the candle out
I watch the smoke stream
Wondering if you realize
You just extinguished my dream
I scrape the wax from the table, throw it away
Now thankful for the words I couldn't seem to say
I put the candle in a drawer and close it tight
I've learned the words will come when the time is right
Hopefully next time I light the candle it will forever burn
With the eternal kind of love, for which I yearn

StarrGazer~
This is wistfully lovely.
A sorrowing thought -
so well done.

The is so delightful, StarrGazer! Sounds to me like a surreal and beautiful melody.....

You blow the candle out
I watch the smoke stream
Wondering if you realize
You just extinguished my dream

This is so sad! =(

WOW! Beautiful and so romantic. A poetic delight!  ellie

Summers haunting melody
that awakens
the butterflies,
calling them to join
the dance
in their silent song
of praise to God.

I agree here ,this is very romantic and so very sad,but love can be like that.

I hope your candle bursts back into flame soon.

Thanks ellie, Jon, Brian, Denise, Erin, Brenda

Brenda I think the longer it takes to get the candle lit again and the slower it burns the better it is??? Can't gaurantee that  but seems to be proving true
