They don't know it's happening,
Could it hurt them if they didn't know?
They say they love me, but do they really?
They say they know what's going to happen,
That they've been through it before,
But have they really?
Can they really predict the future?
Just because it happened to them doesn't mean it's going to happen to me.
My life, my time,
It's different from theirs,
But they don't seem to get the hint.
I'm full of questions, but they don't have the answers,
Cause they can't find it in a book.
I'm a slave in my own home,
But they don't see it as slavery,
They see it as preparing me for the future.
They said we'd have more freedom,
More time to ourselves.
Is that what they really meant?
But they can't see why,
They treat me like I'm a kid,
I'm not their little boy anymore.
Will Someone Open Their Eyes?

Welcome to Passions. I remember these words...and now I read them as a parent. We will never understand the whys of eachother (parent-child). What we need to know is this. We love eachother. Your parents love you and are doing what they are doing because of that love. You and them need to find some middle ground. You were concieved by them and were just an infant in arms. It is difficult to let go...we want you to have your independence but we also want you to stay our children.

I hope this helped some?
