I'll sing to you a bitter song
in the key of greed and hate
To the tune of malevolence
and "sorry"s that came too late
It's a song not many like to hear
yet if you listen, it's all around
coming from the mouths of man;
the most dissonant of sounds
It is the song of humankind
and what's become of earth
The melancholy epic of
the destruction of our mirth
If ocean waves were people
peace was sand upon the shore
Over time it washed away
It sholds no meaning any more
But now we see our lives without
this precious jewel we lost
and because we let it slip away
we're having to pay the cost
So, you ask, what can WE do,
to turn 'round this song we sing?
The answer, I tell you, is simply this:
my friends, EVERYTHING!
For peace begins with just one soul
who shares their love with others
and it doesn't matter WHO they are
'cause we're ALL sisters and brothers
Forget religion, race, and sex
and focus on what's inside
That's all that matters anyway
so put away predjudice and pride!
Our common bond is that we're HUMAN;
We all laugh and scream and cry
We all have our hopes and dreams
We all will live and die
Don't be afraid of what you don't understand
Diversity is good for the soul
We need to broaden our horizons
and make unity our goal
It's a matter of acceptance
you must listen with your heart
and when we can all do this
THAT'S when peace will start
Through simply love and kindness
we can make all hatred cease
For when we sing in harmony
we sing the song of peace

In all the links
of the chain
called the Universe...
man is the weakest one.

Peace will come.

Bravo, Emmy! No truer words were ever spoken!
And spoken so well, I might add!
