Why Do I Try

One large drop of blood worked it's way slowly down his forehead. "I can't do it anymore!" he said.

"Relax. Take it easy. Everyone loves your writing." a voice said behind him.

"Really? You think so?" Looking around. "Who said that?"

"Me. One of those guys you dreamed up while your were creating."

"Why can't I see you?" he said being suspicious.

"Oh you can't see me. You haven't made me real enough" the voice explained.

"So how do I do that?" he asked hoping to get an answer to his problems in writing. After waiting several minutes no reply came. "Hey. Hello. My little created friend where are you?"

"I'm here." The voice said sounding disgusted. "What do you want?"

"How can I make you more real?" he said looking around. "Do I write you into existence?" searching the corners of the room.

"Just hold on I'm thinking on it. Okay? Like wait a minute." the voice said.

"Oh. Okay I'll wait." He said, waiting for ten minutes.

"Well you see it's like this. Are you listening?" the voice said.

"Yeah. I'm listening. Tell me? Come on tell me?" he said. Boy oh boy this writing is finally going to go somewhere. Man I can hardly wait he thought to himself. I can't believe it the voice sounds so real. It's going to all come together now. I've worked so many years waiting for this moment. "Come on! Tell me!" he screamed.

"Okay...don't get excited." The voice said. "Remember you son Tony? Well do you?"

"Yeah I do. What does he got to do with this?" he said, turning his head wondering.

"Well it's like this. Tony really needs that new bike and that new computer for his room." The voice said.

"Really!" He said. "And if Tony gets what he wants for Christmas. You'll tell Tony. To get! Out! Of! My! Closet! And stop playing games on me!"

"Ah, dad I was only fun-in." Tony said coming out of the closet carrying a toilet roll he had been talking into.

"I'm telling Santa on you boy. You can count on that." His father said.

That is so cute. It sounds like little boys trying every trick in the book to get what they want. LOL!
