      All Things Passing
(for a lady of my finest
      dreams)

A fine evening-crescent moon
paints the mountainous edge
of this vanishing wilderness
in silver-tipped shadows and
condensed moonlight on
frost and new-fallen snow
shimmering long on such a
    freezing night.
A chill North Wind makes
the bone-trees dance and
speaks through them its
     sad lament
on all things passing and
lost to the infinite void of
    deepest Time.
The forest seems empty but
for a lonely poet, a Winter hare
and all the hopes and dreams of
Spring and new love that walk
silently with one here in the
austere beauty and fleeting
moments of our brief-candle
    lives.

Ah, you delved deeply into your vast knowledge of nature and its ways for this snapshot of a super poem, Bruce.

You shouldn't call yourself a "secondhand..poet", this poem is so first hand in capturing lovely images of nature's scenes. Lovely lovely

May those 'hopes and dreams' of new love come to fruition with the fresh and new Spring season Mr. Adams.

Inspiring poetry indeed!

Pass the Glade if you're going to do that here...
