I am sitting here
alone
getting hammered on champagne tonight,
no special reason,
it is a good season for it
and I had the champagne,
under my arm
when I got home,
and the freezer still works;
I like it just at the edge of ice;
do you know the French
under Napoleon
...seemed to like the position enough to offer him a permanent wide-on
...under Napoleon...
...anyway,
the French
looked at this stuff a little bit like it was crack ,
of course that hadn't been invented yet,
maybe we should bring the Republic back...
...
...
...NAH!

Taste and smell,
what in hell is it with the senses anyway?
God's forgotten coincidences,
sitting here cleansing my delicate palate
with rotted grape juice
acids
alcohol
and of course the slightest subtle hint of french wood,
...scary thought...french wood...
and the tiny tiny bits of ice,
...excuse me...
...
...
...ahh...
so nice,
oh yeah
and the bubbles,
can't forget the facakta bubbles tickling my
...memories...

I wonder why I didn't just get a pint
or two
of Night Train
or maybe Tiger Rose,
who knows
what inspired me to do this tonight?
I was just locking up
ready to haul my ass out of there,
I was tired,
sure I was still wired
from being buried in work
all week,
work up to my kishkas,
but that's the way it is you know
work is the curse of the drinking class...
...excuse me...
...
...
...anyway
all I wanted was to get home
eat and sleep
look for a little cheap oblivion,
...I always keep cheap oblivion in reach...
it was like my truck had a mind of its own,
it was like I was a dog
and the store was a bone,
what was it?
...
...
Oh yeah...

you called.

Nothing of yours could ever be called tedious, Ice. Your words flow like that champagne and are just as intoxicating....well done.

Ah yes some calls can well induce us to take such decisions ... golden bubbles make things momentarily bearable.

Very vivid and intense.
