every so often
I am able to go behind
their eyes
and penetrate the minds
of the shallow ones
making spectacles of themselves
they are the wishy-washy
discontented ones
I see them materialize only to
disappear seemingly
into the very air they breathe
ancient faces
even on the young ones
with their helmets of salt and pepper
those eyes
the very same eyes I can infiltrate
stare straight ahead
hoping to bring back the days of passion
nights of honest fulfillment
ahhh . . .
but through it all
there is, deep within
puzzlement and disappointment
of an unmanageable vagueness
on the sordid degrading floor

If you find yourself behind my eyes Jerry, wipe the blood off your boots on the way out.

Always an interesting read.

Keep'em coming.

Way cool way with words dude!
I'm kinda fond of this part:
     "but through it all
     there is, deep within
     puzzlement and disappointment
     of an unmanageable vagueness
     on the sordid degrading floor"
But then I have always been partial to your endings.

sometimes the discontent we see in others, is a reflection of our own..

maybe that's why they sound like, I's

a variation from a classic movie:

"here's looking at me kid"

they just dont make movies like that anymore..

well done

No, no they don't. No they don't make them like they used to.

As far as  being like them, I suppose to a certain extent. Yes.
