Fair to middlin' of nowhere

0 posted 2015-06-02 10:32 AM

My cumbersome cuts deep
into hunched shoulders,
furrowing my brows
with distressed thoughts habitual.
My too much and not enough dichotomy
concretes me where I sit
with eyelids of lead.
My body has betrayed me and I it.
Pain shadows each movement.
Comfort commandeers my thoughts
and dictates my motivation.
Faith weaken and wearied
by “It’s just one of those things”
“Get used to it”
and the all-knowing surmise that
the one size fits all cure
is exercise.
Pain panders
to weaknesses
of mind, body and Soul.
It greases a slippery slope
down into a deep dark hole.
The darkness is quiet
and peaceful as a tomb,
lulling me to sleep
and blissfully unaware
of all my gloom.

Can't say I like this. It hurt to read it.

Been in a bit of a funk for a while now. I'm not liking it. I'll muddle my way through, I always do. But until then I have a grade A state of the art pity pot I'll be sitting on.

I'm rootin' for you, but its not what you think. Misery loves company. You got a lot of dust on your pity pot, I think I'll blow it off for you just in case you drop by to use it and keep me company.

Wow Lori..you settled your own piece of dark here, and of course- I like it!

Don't stay gone too long tho..you are the bright one.

The darkness can be a great place to hide, indeed.  Surprised to find you here though, Lori.  Tis o.k. though, I know you're just visiting.

Michael,
Eh, me and depression go way back. I think one of my meds has pooped out on me. Time to tinker with the ole chemical balance. The last couple of days have been better though... ~L
