If I were
to kiss your mouth,
And be borne again
'neath your flame,
Would you hold me up...?
Caress my name
against Time's awful stand...?

If you were to pull away-
I'd be denied air,
Like cells on boil-
after acid rain
has rolled through
soul town.

Would it be enough-
To convince
Of my solid-rock stare...?
Of those spaces inside-
a forever lonely
body-cry,
without you there...?
and there, and there.

Might I see you
melt
your wings for me...?
No need to fly so far,
you see?
I only bleed, when I need,
and I do...

All thoughts
come down
to two.

And I cannot, cannot go...

Questions asked in search of what is needful within a relationship, Devina. I very much liked . . .
quote:
All thoughts
come down
to two.

That then, sums it up, for if it doesn't "come down to two," something is very wrong.

This is as open as I have ever seen a heart.  Someone once told me to truly love, you have to expose your vulnerability.  Give all of yourself.  It is humbling to bear witness to such.  It does come down to two, (see Jer, you stole my thunder on this one...lol).  If two people can share everything, weaknesses and strengths, hopes and fears, without holding anything back, only then will they hold each other up without fail.

Now, my wings were broken anyway, do I still get credit for melting them?

Yes, Michael
You go right ahead and duck...

       *swack in low-blow
       (and innocent hum)

Now. I will let you slide on broken-melt..

D,

This is really incredible! I felt the emotion in this to the core! I really love the open honesty of your writing!
