Wait

silently

by the water's edge this evening

feel sand slipping away
beneath your toes

a lapping warmth
of rising tide at your ankles

senses

detecting a familiarity

carried in
from across the waves

A feathered breeze caresses your cheek

its fingers
gently tousle your hair

its breath
finds the trail of a lonely tear

slowly

faintly

drying to its touch

You're feeling
a kiss
from those you miss

These feelings
returned

In trust
of the rising moon

Find heart-light

shining
at their source

What a precious gift of caring sent long distance. This is delicately delightful! ~L

The sentiments within the framework of this lovely poem are very enticing. You caught a mood and thrived on it. Very good.
