I was thinking today
of the garden,
I used to have

At the house with the big back yard

At least that’s what the kids and I called it
when we lived there
many special years ago

I mean you could fit Ohio in the darn thing!

Which of course, isn’t true in the very least bit

You could only fit, Cleveland

I remember these two vines I planted
at the ends of our fence

As time went by
their tendrils somehow couldn’t help but
embrace
each other

And it reminded me of
the elegance,
of friendship

That you
can
grow separately

Without,
growing apart

You know that you are
friends for life,
when some of your best
conversations
consist of years,
of silence

Intervals apart of respect and
dignity
are some of the stitches
of care and
relationship

The tongue of togetherness
is not words
but worth

Value

As in I,
very much
appreciate,
you

As someone most valuable

To me

But then how do you put a price
on the sharing,
of endearment…

You don’t

Because the freedom of friendship
will
always be free

Just like the daydream and dawn
of, belief

The only cost is that you are never,
ever,
lost

And I wonder,
if that is the true thing
anyone
ever wants

To finally,
be found

You had me at
I was thinking today....

About you and your poetry.
It is indeed a gift that can't be bought.

I like this. We will never know every thing about another and that is good I think. But "to be found" is like saying, Look What I Found and it is lovely or it is beautiful or I am made so happy by this find. Just my feeling.I would love to be "found" again.

I was "found" twice in my life and revel in that. Jo

I really like this poem. Your words are completely honest and true

so very true Jo..

i suppose it helps if we, find ourselves, first..

not sure if that is even possible, but alas we try nevertheless..

thank you sweet dear

thanks as always Jerry..

yes this one was more prose than usual

just opening the windows to the heart and doing a little tidying up..

Such beautiful awareness is a true gift of your heart.

Highly appreciated the psychological research combined with your poetic skills, dear Richy.
