The great oak
Now an elder
Still births new acorns.
Tender, tender, acorns,
Soft, gentle, sweet acorns.
It's roots extend, beyond
Looking for fresh water springs.
It knows decades of solitude
Yet, still drops it's seed
For rebirth and new life.
Great oak, will you one day
Find yourself, enveloped
Within the love of the
Shading branches you
Encompassed
To finally,
Be still....

Interesting and lovely take on the might oak, ebonygirl. The massive oak has been the subject of many a poet, and here, now, is yet one more excellent tribute.

Lovely write Ms. E.

There is such a surety in the circle of life that you have in this poem, and in that also, is strength and tranquility.  Very nice.  I feel as if I am sitting in the shade of your poem.

Ms. E, what a wonderful write. The ancient to the young, the cycles of life over and over if you are fortunate enough to have a wood to see this very thing in action

This is a poem about far more than an old oak tree...
it is about every thing that is born, and dies..

It is the all, and the nothing...in a midway display of slow animation.

The oak is moving, but beyond our perception..

Its roots.."Looking for fresh water springs." moving/seeking.

Very nice, Ms. love it......:-)
