Beauty pleases the eye,
A woman,
Great works of art,
Nature, even at its worst.

To create beauty,
Is sometimes a lonely task,
Brushes on a blank canvas,
A bow, a cello, and you.

A lie can be a thing of beauty,
Projected toward innocents,
For their consumption,
Hiding the truth.

A restful place among a craggy jetty,
Some sunsets defy description,
Cool mist from the waves,
Pleasurable feelings and beautiful.

The years have crept upon you,
Looking back can be beautiful,
Or sad, your choice how to look at it,
And forgive if need be.

The sickle of death,
Plods steadily on,
No one can do this for you,
It can be a thing of beauty . . . Or not.

Aye, beauty is truly in the eye... anything at all can be, and probably is, beautiful to someone.  I know you think I walk around like a wounded puppy most the time Jer because my  poetry tends to portray just that... but truthfully, I gracefully accept my loveless state mostly because I do not believe the love I shared in the past could ever be matched.  It is a thing of great beauty I will always cherish and never stop looking back on.  So far as my depressing poetry... I had to bleed the darkness, even in the middle of that relationship, so without it, who can blame me if I do it a bit more.     And there are even some who see beauty in that bleeding.

Good morning to you.  I'm off to bed now.  Just got home myself.

Oh, there is beauty in tragedy, Michael, because as you say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You put yourself on the cross of remembrance and bleed artistic words for us to read. There is beauty in your anguish. However, there is beauty in the future also, if you only give yourself a chance to understand and behold it. No, I don't think you walk around like that sad sack character in the 'Lil Abner cartoon who has storm clouds hovering above his head constantly.

I thank you for stopping by this morning.

Jerry, in just a few quick words, this is my favorite of the many I've read of yours --- but then, you knew it would be, huh!!

No, I didn't really know that, but I am grateful that you liked "Beauty" to that extent, J. Thank you very much.

This is my favorite also especially about women being a  great work of art. Men are too. Enjoyed Jerry. Lovely

Thank you, Victoria. Yes, both sexes are great works, I have to agree. I appreciate your presence here in my little part of the Blue Room.
