We are the human tales of time,
And rove the roads of presence past
when all those roads are gray with pride
And all the peaks blue with haze
We come so sudden like a storm
Blowing cross the cresent hills
From the earth our potter's dreams
Make love and wonderous newborn thrills
How far we look and strive to fare
Above the history we can't see!
And with that whirlwind in our hair
We turn our youth t'ward our needs

Yet we pass by the little stream
Flowing gently by wooded hills
And the watersheds of life's demands
We drain with ruthless metal skills

The roaring tides, the magic sea
These are the borders we've defied
Where living dead still fight the will
Of merchant sailors darkened ride.

We are the genius of the sun,
Full of forgotten yesterdays
We take time to make our run
Against the distance of it's rays.

If I could just turn back time
And readjust the old by gones
With man above's hope and dreams
I'd be a healthy vagabond.

Here comes the sun......

Love the first line, Eric, it just slapped me upside the head with its brilliance. The rest of the poem took its cue from the first line and wandered in and out of life and its storms and chills. You delved into the human race and ferreted out so much that it will take a couple of more reads for me to come to ultimate terms with it, and that is why I will save this one. You are fantastic when it comes to writing about our peaks and our valleys.

Thank you Jerry for the read and those wonderful comments.
Coming from such a good writer as you I don't know if I can ever measure up to what you're saying but I surely appreciate your upbuilding positiveness.

I think this is one of your best ever, Eric, or maybe it's just that it's my kind of poem.

This is very complex and profound, as well as beautifully written, dear Eric.

I love the conclusion so much "HERE COMES THE SUN" ... with every new day comes the new opportunity to become aware of the greatness of life.

Wonderful work.
