My next door neighbor has a rooster
He crows...
and brings us morning.
It is just a matter of time
until some grouch calls city hall
and he will be gone.
I guess morning will still come...
but it won't be the same.

Clever use of a pun.  This brought me a smile.

It can be a cheery sound Dear Ida
so long as you are not trying to sleep,

but there again you can't please everyone.
All the best dear friend. love.

Ah, my friend...I grew up with roosters crowing and as much as I miss the sound they can be like dogs barking in city neighborhoods.

But, I agree, a piece of one is forever lost when the rooster's crow is no longer heard.
And I feel sad for those who have heard one only in recordings of one kind or another.

Just not the same.  I'll miss your rooster too.

Well, the rooster is still here, just lucky that I'm the neighbor next door I guess.

Ask the rooster to call the city hall and have any grouches removed.

Sending you my ears so I can hear the rooster's call.  I would love to be woken up by his call, no matter what time and how often.

Love to you, Ida, and the rooster

Well, yanno Ida.  It could be worse.  The rooster could have a bell around his neck - lol.

Actually, I like the rooster and I don't mind the noise at all, as the poem clearly states.

He crows...
and brings us morning.

It's so much nicer to have your day delivered.

Love this, dear Ida! Reminds me of when I was a teenager and fooled the roosters crowing as the first one out of my window ... they all replied and I had such fun!
May this rooster continue to bring the day!

Love,
Margherita
