I am drunk and I don’t give a damn anymore
Cracked open a bottle and I’m gonna spill it
Even if you don’t wanna hear it
You’re gonna have to

This never happened to me before either
And it completely got me by surprise
I know this is ‘a once in a lifetime’
Not even a fool will believe this can happen twice

Are you still here
Listening to the bottle talking
No subtle poetical disguises
I am gonna give it to you raw

I want more of you and I don’t care
If it’s not the most responsible thing to do
My heart is telling me
If you’re gone I might as well be dead

But it’s not going to happen is it
for this kind of relationship won’t hold
life has no mercy for the indecisive
and I don’t wanna be just special

What's that saying again?
Children and drunks always speak the truth.

haaften I have never heard that before but I like it.

shalisadefa.  I would join in too.  I enjoyed reading this(And have been there a time or three myself).  It's works like this that makes me think how different it would sound to hear them read aloud.

It's all cool until we come to and remember that bottles really don't talk!     I stopped bottle talking when I read some of my journal entries after drinking - what seemed so profound at the time -- well, it didn't sound so hot sober.

I like the poem - (grins) you made me think.

It may be raw and drenched in alcohol but the feelings seem genuine.  It definitely holds one`s interest.

The bottle might be grinning, but in the end you know better.

Well written!
