A Horseback Song

If one is traveling by donkey,
Would one be singing a donkey song?
If one is traveling on horseback,
would one be singing a horseback song?
If one is traveling by car,
would one want to be singing a car song?
And want to be having fun, fun, fun,
now that Daddy took the T-bird away?
If one is traveling on foot,
would one be singing a walking song?
If one is traveling by train,
would one be singing a choo choo song?
If one is traveling by plane across the Plains,
Would one be sing a plane song?
Or maybe a plain song?
Or maybe a planes song?
or maybe a Plains song,
all the while listening to every heart,
and walking the flames of the past?

And the sky forecast today:
Sunshine, heavy at times,
Especially about Noon,
Then tapering off to gentle rays this afternoon,
Before diminishing to golden twilight tonight.

This came to me in the shower.
I will never again take for granted
That I can get on Pip again.

Hey, nobody's human!

Jaime,

I absolutely love your song - this is the whimsical part of you that I first noticed.  I do so hope we see more of this side of you, Jaime.  As far as being back at PiP, I hope none of us take it for granted.  I would hate to not have PiP and be able to read the wonderful poetry that is written by people I have come to care about - people like you, my friend.

Welcome back, Jaime.  You were missed.

Alison

I wonder at times why writers will take a whimsical mood and deliberately damper it with a sombre conclusion.  This juxtaposition unsettles me at times.  I think I should try something of a similiar nature in the future.

Excuse me.  I think I misunderstood your ending.  It is upbeat but like I said before there is a definite shift in mood.

This is actually about Sunshine and is a compendium of her "locations."  One was: listening to every heart. While another was walking the flames of the past.  Still another was: listening to a planes song (notot plain or plain song.  It's amazing and I wondered who pulled this one from so deep into Pip!  Dinner time
