Between the Lines

Cloudreams...

looking out and up this day...the skies were painted blue
the many shades from light to dark were deepest of it's hues

the cardinals flew with food in mouth to land on lines and rest
before they carried on their way, to feed those in their nest

the sun it's brightest of the day, shone yellow-gold in heat
emitting rays much brighter than behind those clouds' retreat

a butterfly had landed on the lilac's purple bloom
and all I did was paint these words, in mind within this room

my fantasy of life would be to fly the clouds in dreams
and paint the skies with thoughts of love like sprinkles on ice cream

the rainbow colors of real you see from shades of blue to green
are better than rose colored ones, a  pretense of what is seen

and one more glance I took, before returning to my bed
the beauty of the sweetest rose, the one so deeply red

was  opening up it's bud to me, another color bright
but now must leave the painted world and close my eyes tonight...

Thank you, Martie~~  I wrote this for Marge ages ago. She was my first internet poet friend elsewhere. I was looking over some of my first poems wondering why I can't write like that anymore

Beautiful, dear Maureen. Dear Marge is always in our hearts too and I am sure she enjoys your gift.

And you write most beautifully even now, don't underestimate your talent!

Love,
Margherita

Honey, we don't write "like that" anymore because of all of our wonderfully unique internet poet friends' influences.

We've grown. I don't even want to think where I might be now, if not for the magical influences of PiP, and our members.

Hi Maur!!!  ~wavin' frantically~
this writing is top-notch!  each line smoothly connects with the succeeding one.  Very cool, and that the fact it was for Marge makes it a treasure.

I'm sorry to hear about your flareup.  My best buddy has what you have.  Makes holding a job tough for him.  I'm healing up a bit: kept waking up every 20 minutes by a stiff cough.  Never got to the dream stage....

udder-wize, we be doin' all right!

This is a beautiful tribute to Marge. It tells us she will never be forgotten by those  who learned to know her which is to love her. Thank you,  latearrival

Marge was special, no doubt about it.  She was one of the first to welcome me to PIP many years ago...

This touches me tenderly, Maureen, as I remember a sweet lady, whom I was just beginning to know, who left an indelible memory in my heart, though too brief our friendship on this earthly plane. Thanks for this splendid song of remembrance --
